Have you ever eaten in an Italian all-you-can-eat restaurant, like the ethnic ones? The answer is almost certainly no, at least if you are a Roman.

But now you can, because today, April 30th, a restaurant of this type has opened, with absolutely homemade cuisine, that you can eat as much as you want. It is located in the center, the name is “Senza Fondo” (bottomless, literally). In short, you can stock up on food, from first to second courses and side dishes.

It is the ideal place for those who want to taste everything at absolutely competitive prices.

The owners and creators are Diana Russo and Luciano Ruffino, who say: “We wanted to celebrate Roman cuisine in a fun format, made up of real, authentic and limitless dishes”. It will of course be the customers who will say if the goal is achieved, but the conditions are all there.

The menu features the great kings and queens of Roman cuisine. It starts with carbonara, gricia and amatriciana to then arrive at tripe alla romana, saltimbocca, meatballs with sauce and chicken with peppers. Among the side dishes you cannot miss the sautéed chicory, as well as many sautéed vegetables. In season, of course. For lovers of the genre, you can dive into the thin and “scrocchiarella” (crunchy) pizza. And then the fried bits, as many as you like.

Diana Russo admits: “Many recipes are from my grandmother and my aunt. Our idea was to bring home-cooking, Sunday cooking. Here the stoves are on from early in the morning, we cook, the sauce boils slowly ”.

Among the suppliers, the excellences that arrive from Castelli Romani with the bacon, the wine, the selected meats, the local products sought after every week by the managers.

Prices. You pay € 19.50 for lunch and € 25.50 after 6pm, on Sundays and holidays. And you can taste anything you want.
