Sardinian restaurateurs sympathize with each other. In Capoterra, the metropolitan city of Cagliari, there is one who has decided to launch the #tavolinocondiviso (shared table) initiative on the Facebook page of his restaurant.
“Those who come to us will also find the menus of the other pizzerias in the Municipality on the table and will be able to have their favorite pizza delivered“.
Giovanni Ruggeri, owner of the ‘Maddalena’ restaurant, continues: “A small sign of solidarity because the entire local economy would be penalized. We are lucky enough to have a large outdoor space where our customers can dine, but unfortunately this is not the case for several of our colleagues who work indoors or only with take-away ”.
Ruggeri also carries out another initiative, which always concerns his restaurant: “For a couple of months we have been giving away, with a minimum cost of 10 euros for take-out or home delivery, ffp2 masks or Sardinian books, but we have also opened to effect swabs: now we hope that the town’s pizzerias can join this initiative“.
Ruggeri in his restaurant normally has space for 150 seats, which became 70 because of social distancing.
He says again: “We are lucky enough to have a large outdoor space where our customers can dine, but unfortunately this is not the case for several of our colleagues”. In short, “come to us and order the pizza you want”. And the meal can be eaten on the tables made available on Ruggeri’s large veranda, even if it has not been baked by his pizza chefs.
